Sacred Heart Girls College Administration Upgrade, New Plymouth

Due to a growing roll and corresponding increase in Staff, a major upgrade was required. A new main entry was designed to focus the public interface of the school. Designed as a natural cedar clad entry funnel, the entry is flanked by a sacred cross icon. The previous entry was converted to administration space while a first floor staffroom and utility area were added, providing a link to the first floor circulation. By this means, the existing lift was utilised. The square forms tie in with the original school buildings but are finished in new materials.
