New Plymouth Airport

The existing terminal had become inadequate for rapid growth in passenger numbers. Redevelopment of the New Plymouth airport is a new terminal building to provide for projected growth and future increased security requirements. It will be a key gateway and iconic statement for the district. Jackson Architects are in joint venture with BECA Architects to design and deliver this important project. Key planning requirements are to respond to passenger flow patterns, with separate arrivals and departure areas. Bag handling areas will be designed around belt systems. Cafe, retail, airline lounges and supporting spaces are all optimised.
