Beach Street House, New Plymouth

This modern minimal 3 storey residence was designed with a large basement space to accommodate vehicles and water sport equipment. The generous central stairway is lit from the South and links the spaces vertically. Extensive decks provide outdoor living options for morning and evening, and shelter from prevailing winds, while enjoying great views of the surf and city. Cedar and white textured panel feature externally with oak ceilings internally. Public and private areas were defined by vertical and horizontal separation to make this a very practical solution.
