This office and fit-out project for a New Plymouth accounting firm was a collaborative ‘design and build’ solution. A previous attempt by others had proved uneconomic. We designed an efficient, yet creative solution on a difficult, sloping residential site. A key decision to build a car park entry bridge, gave the project a main street address. The simple mono-pitch roof was carefully extended around the existing trees to provide a distinctive presence, and shelter the entry and link bridge. Internally textured sloping ceilings at both ends give height to the larger open plan areas. A ‘colour therapy’ wall give staff relief from their monochromatic screen based workstations.
